Just a fourteen-year-old

Now, let me be honest here, I’m not a wise, experienced person, I’ve lived out only fourteen years of my life, But I wanna tell you something.

If there’s anything I’ve learnt in all these years, It’s that life is not as perfect as we want it to be. We don’t always get what we want.

We fail, and we fall, sometimes literally, And it’s painful, trying to find your footing again, On this uphill climb we call life.

But we have to get up again, and take of our coat of mistakes, And put on a new one.

I’m just a girl whose trying to tell you, That giving up is not the answer, That moving forward, even when it feels like your feet are stuck in quicksand, That is the answer.

I also know that every action, has an equal opposite reaction, So don’t think, that all those kind things you do go unnoticed, Or the bad things. Because one day, Someone will do the same for you. In Buddhism, it’s called the law of karma Because what goes around, comes around. So don’t punch that guy who gave you a black eye, I know, better than anyone, how hard it is to forgive, But if you do, you’re letting go of all that pain and misery, That you’ve locked up inside of you And I promise, Scout’s Honor, that you’ll feel so much better.

So this is my little message to you, And I hope it helped you realize, That life is more than just an ordeal. Or an uphill climb. It’s about planting flowers, And smelling the breeze, And most importantly, It’s about not giving up.
